Would return in a heartbeat
"One of the best things about visiting Lecce for 10 days was staying at this charming bed and breakfast. There are two accommodation choices in the building, and we opted for the larger one, a good-size apartment with a private courtyard.."
Superb location and wonderfully helpful hosts
"My husband and I stayed at the B&B for four nights. It is in an excellent location in the old town of Lecce - super convenient and central. The room itself suited all of our needs - safe, clean, serviced daily with a fridge and coffee machine and absolutely necessary in summer - air conditioning!.."
Exceptionally central, cosy and just perfect
"Getting a room at Michelangelo B&B is not just getting a cosy, clean, comfortable room/flat in the heart of Lecce.Especially because of Michelangelo himself--the actual owner--you find yourself in no time at the centre of Lecce's touristic network.."
"I started to run MichelangeloB&B in July 2009, when I decided to buy a house in the old town of Lecce. The name of its street (via della Sinagoga, Synagogue street) literally fascinated me, so I started research the history of the place. I surprisingly found out that the whole area was a Jewish neighbourhood during the Middle Ages. A keen interest led me to begin a new project with the help of my friend Francesco De Giorgi and of prof. Fabrizio Lelli (Hebrew Language and Literature, University of Salento - Lecce). We created the underground museum “Museo ebraico - Jewish Museum Lecce” which stands on the remains of a 15th-century Synagogue.
Therefore, our guests at Michelangelo B&B will have a freeaudio guideof Lecce as well as a free entranceto the Jewish Museum, with a special guided tour to discover Lecce’s hidden past…”
